As any parent knows, crafts are a great way to keep kids entertained. And what's more, they can be pretty easy to make too - like these coffee filter butterflies! All you need is Mr. Sketch markers (or regular washable markers), pipe cleaners, and a coffee filter.
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 coffee filters
Washable markers (we used Mr. Sketch, but Crayola will work too)
An eye dropper or small measuring spoon
1 pipe cleaner (12″ long)
Kids these days, with their smartphones and tablets, never seem to want to do anything that doesn't involve screens. If you're looking for a way to get your kids off of their devices and into something more creative, why not try this fun and easy craft project?
All you need are some coffee filters, some crayons or markers, and a little bit of patience. Start by flattening out the coffee filters a little. They don't have to be perfectly flat, just flat enough that you can colour on them. Then let your kids go wild with the crayons or markers, adding whatever designs they want.
Once they're finished, you can help them to fold the coffee filters into flowers or any other shape they can imagine. This simple project is a great way to encourage your kids to use their imaginations and have some screen-free fun!
I love butterflies so my favorite activity with coffee filters is to accordion fold some coffee filters, put them together in a V shape, and voila - a butterfly - here you have a craft that will keep your little ones entertained for hours. And the best part is that when they're done, you can just throw the whole thing away! No muss, no fuss.
