So what can we do to avoid this common problem?
School may be out for the summer, but that doesn’t mean learning has to come to a screeching halt. In fact, there are many simple ways to keep kids’ minds active and engaged all summer long. Summer school is one option, but not all parents want to send their kids to school year-round.
There are other ways to keep learning alive during the summer months.
Here are some ideas:
-Visit the library 📖📚📖 regularly and participate in the summer reading program.
-Start a family garden 🥬🍓🍄💐 and learn about plant life cycles, photosynthesis, and nutrition.
-Visit a nearby farm and learn about where food comes from and the importance of supporting local farmers. 🥬🍓
-Subscribe to a kids’ magazines or a newspaper 📰 or two and encourage your child to read them cover to cover.
- Go on regular field trips to the zoo,🦧 museum, 🦕 or nature center.
-Keep a daily journal 📓 documenting all the adventures of summertime.
