We should teach kids to love themselves, be proud of who they are, have confidence, and celebrate anything that makes them unique!
‘Butterflies have wings, so they can fly. Fish have gills, so they can swim. Bunnies have four legs, so they can run. I have a heart, so I can love you.’ – Unknown
I believe that each child is special and each of them has something special to contribute to the world! What always made my kids special to me was that they were my children.
Kids are all special and deserve special attention from those who help to raise them. It goes a long way in paving a successful future!
A good parent and teacher for that matter, should help a child to realize just how special they are, whereas the earlier a child receives positive praise from parents, and teachers, the stronger the foundation for success in life.
Every child has unique character strengths and abilities that allow him or her to express their individuality in a social environment. It is what makes them “special”. Children grow at different rates in many different areas. When trying to understand your children and their behavior, you can think of them as being the best of the parents.
Since this a favorite topic of mine I compiled a list of books for various ages to show your child they are special. In fact confidence can be learned and even mastered. Self esteem books for kids will help build self worth in children.
